The work carried out by the Village University in villages continued on October 8, 2025, in the village of Aziziye in Burdur. In the meeting held with the interest of the villagers, a training program titled Our Village is Preparing for Disasters was organized.
In the training given by Dr. Lecturer Murat Abdulgani KUŞ, emphasis was placed on pre-disaster preparation, emergency planning, first aid, and post-disaster information. The training was not limited to theoretical knowledge; practical exercises were conducted with the participation of volunteer students. Participants had the opportunity to experience what needs to be done during a disaster with sample materials. Throughout the training process, mutual questions and answers were conducted with the villagers, solution suggestions suitable for local needs were developed, and the disaster awareness of the village people was strengthened.
We thank Mr. Ali Kozak, the Headman of Aziziye Village, who contributed to the realization of the event, and all the villagers who participated in the training.
The Village University team aims to continue similar training in different villages in the coming days to increase the level of preparedness of the local people against disasters.
