Within the scope of Village University studies, students from Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Dentistry conducted a comprehensive oral and dental health screening in Büğdüz Village. The event aimed to raise awareness about oral and dental health among the villagers and to highlight the importance of preventive health services.
The screenings, which attracted great interest from the villagers, involved faculty students performing routine checks and referring individuals with identified dental health problems to the faculty. The event also helped young students overcome their fear of the dentist. Thus, the health screening also turned into an enjoyable learning experience.
Dr. Lecturer Süleyman FAKİ from MAKÜ Faculty of Dentistry also attended the program held at Büğdüz Village Coffeehouse, sharing important information about the effects of oral and dental health on quality of life.
We extend our thanks to Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin DALGAR, Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Ali Murat ALPARSLAN, and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Ali Alp SAĞLAM, who supported this meaningful fieldwork and made a strong contribution to the vision of Village University.
